Time Management
Time management is important in all areas of our lives; especially in an existing thriving company or start-up business. Most large employers provide training in time-management skills, since it provides many benefits for the business. As a small business owner it is very important to manage your time. In many instances time seems to slip away and nothing is accomplished. Below are a few tips to keep you on track:
- Prioritize tasks put the most important at the top of your list. One way to think of what is important is to rank tasks by what value they bring to the bottom line of your business. In other words are you working on tasks that bring money into the business?
- Multi-tasking is not always the best way to be productive. For most people it is better to focus and finish one task before going on to the next. Studies have shown that multi-tasking can slow productivity and jeopardize quality.
- Don’t waste time over analyzing your tasks, this leads to procrastination.
- If you have large tasks break them down into manageable chucks.
If you implement these small tips into your time management plan, you will definitely see positive change if you are having time management issues.
